In cold water, specifically between 40 and 50 degrees, a living rubber jig may be the very best bait that you can fish. This jig is an exact remake of the jig I designed over 25 years ago while guiding. I have caught hundreds of big bass over the years on this jig from California, to Mexico, to Florida and everywhere between. This is a very specific bait designed to be slowly dragged along the bottom in cold water. Do not swim or hop this jig. I will typically fish this bait slowly down rocky points, humps and ledges in 5 to 35' of water. Concentrate on maintaining constant bottom contact and make sure to drag the bait a few inches at a time with periodic pauses. My goal when fishing this bait is to setup on the best structure on the lake and slowly pick it apart looking to catch a few big bass.
